Postgraduate Balloting Date Announced

Hello everyone and how are you doing? The date for postgraduate balloting has been announced ans balloting is going to be like the undergraduate balloting which means it would be strenous. First of all, it should be noted that only Students registered for 2019/2020 Session can ballot for hostel.
All Full Time PG Students should visit their Accommodation Portal to ballot for Accommodation.
Note that very few spaces are available to each Department.
It is first come first to fill each Department quota. Unilag Postgraduate Balloting starts on January 16th, 2020.

Steps For Unilag Postgraduate Balloting

1. Visit the student portal by clicking here or alternatively visit the Unilag Spgs website – spgs.unilag.edu.ng and assess the current student link and then supply your login details namely, application number/matriculation number and surname in lowercase or changed password as password .
2. When you login in you will see the “hostel application/get a space”. Click on this and proceed with your application. If you are successful you will be required to download payment advice. After this you are expected to make payment within 48 or 72 hours after which students may loose the space if they fail to pay.

Postgraduate students on Full-Time Programme who wish to stay in the hall of residence during the academic session should note the following:

Hostel accommodation is allocated online; each qualified applicant selects his/her room online on the basis of first come, first served.

Male Master's students who have fully paid their fees and have been successfully screened by the Postgraduate School are eligible to compete online for Block A and the Ground Floor of Block C of Henry Carr Hall.

Female Master's students who have fully paid their fees and have been successfully screened by the Postgraduate School are eligible to compete online for Ground Floor and First Floor of Block B of Henry Carr Hall.

All M.Phil/Ph.D students seeking hostel accommodation must produce evidence of registration and payment of full fees since the year of admission.

All M.Phil/Ph.D students who have stayed in the hostel for five sessions are not eligible for accommodation

Female M.Phil/Ph.D students who have fully paid their fees and have been successfully screened by the Postgraduate School are eligible to compete online for the Second Floor of Erastus Akingbola Hall and the Second Floor of Block B of Henry Carr Hall.

Male M.Phil/Ph.D students who have fully paid their fees and have been successfully screened by the Postgraduate School are eligible to compete online for the Ground Floor, First Floor and Third Floor of Erastus Akingbola Hall, and the First and the Second Floors of Block C of Henry Carr Hall.


Each of the rooms for the Master's students are to be occupied by two qualified Master's students.

The rooms for the M.Phil/Ph.D students may be occupied by one or two qualified students each.


Upon successful online selection of a hostel space or room, all applicants are given a maximum of seventy two hours to pay the accommodation fee, the evidence of which must be presented to the Welfare Officer at the Postgraduate School for the issuance of necessary clearance papers that will enable the applicants to move into the halls of residence. After seventy two hours, the space will be up for re-allocation.


Applicants should ensure that the evidence of payment of accommodation fee taken to the Welfare Officer must be accompanied by evidence of up to date payment of school fees right from the time of admission.


Payments should be made through any of the Unilag branches of the following banks: UBA, WEMA, First Bank and Intercontinental Bank, ECO Bank.

  2. Thanks for the update. Please is the balloting still on going today,17th Jan.? I tried it yesterday, I wad told "There are no available rooms in the hall -Henry Carr B". I've been trying it since morning today as well, what I've been getting is "Accommodation applications are not enabled for Masters programmes"

    If it's still on, what do you suggest I do? Thanks for the anticipated response.
