ASUU STRIKE PROTEST: Policemen Strategically Positioned at UNILAG gate

Following a planned protest by a group of students over the Academic Staff Union of Universities' lingering strike action, a team of security officials, including men from the Nigeria Police Force, were stationed at the main gate of the University of Lagos, Akoka.

Student groups had previously called for nationwide protests on Tuesday. The University of Ibadan main gate, UNILAG main gate, and various locations in Edo State were mentioned in some of the fliers obtained by our correspondent.

A tight security presence was spotted at UNILAG's main gate this morning.

This year's strike, now in its fourth month, has forced public universities to close since its inception, allegedly because the Federal Government had failed to meet the lecturers' demands.
